I wasn't aware of EGR coolers until I looked at the cooling diagrams, I have to admit when I first saw the TD5 coolant diagram, it looked like it was designed by an engineer recovering from a night mare. Only just starting to get my head around it , and they throw in an EGR cooler to the mix. I would love to know the official reason for introduction of the cooler. It may help to understand any problems caused by its removal. Not that it matters to my D2, of course. Just interested.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
IMO the EGR cooler was there to improve the power with open EGR as the higher the IAT is the more powerless the engine becomes cos it's used for fuelling calculations so they wanted to reduce the IAT reading for better fuelling by cooling those hot gasses
Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
