Sorry I forgot to say I drive a 2001 D2 Auto. Thank you.
G'day all,
Watching TV the Discos alarm goes off for no reason. Nothing I did could stop it and I swear it was a lot louder than usual. After 30 or so seconds it stops. Next morning I start the truck and I start getting short beeps. Some longer than others. Sometimes nothing while I'm driving then the beeps start, very embarrassing. Can anyone explain. I tried to contact my local mechanic but he's retired. Which reminds me does anyone know a good 4x4 mechanic in the Dandenong area. It's due for a service so I need one soon. Cheers!

What's starting your truck got to do with the disco?... Discoverys aren't very truck like
two options:
1. get a Nanocom. Find the BCU setting to turn the alarm off.
2. find someone local to you with a Nanocom, bribe them to help you connect it up and turn the alarm off .. as per #1 option!
I'm thinking that an alarm on a D2 nowadays is pretty much superfluous as it's unlikely that the thieving scum are targeting D2s.
(ie. if you're going to go to the trouble of stealing a car, you want fast, sporty and expensive)
I turned mine off, and keep reminding brother to do the same .. that way you don't really have a need to remember the EKA code ever again!
And low batteries don't give you the 'irrits' with lockouts and suchlike.
Arthur.
All these discos are giving me a heart attack!
