Thread: Looks like I have had a little engine bay fire at some stage??

Hi Guys,
Cleaning up the engine bay of the Disco and found this - right down the bottom of the engine bay on the passenger side firewall / inner fender, looks like the Air Con pipe insulation got too close to the exhaust at some stage of it's history (before I took it on) and had a litlle issue.

Should I be concerned about this?
Do I need to replace the insulation on the A/C pipe?
Is this common?
Is there meant to be a heat shield to stop this happening or is my car a freak??
Any thoughts?

looks like it might of been out in a paddock and had a build of grass then caught fire from what i can tell.
should be fine but i would clean it up and give a coat of under body protector just to be sure
