    Mahle v Mann air filters

Mahle oil filters and air filters are made in Austria and appear good quality. I have decided I prefer Mann at least in air filters. Reasons: 1. More pleats; 2. 5mm or so longer and fits better; and 3. Much softer frame that should make for a better (squishy) seal.

    Cheers

and Mann-Hummel are one of the big three in automotive filtration, alongside Donaldson and Cummins-Fleetguard.

If Ben/isuzrover rates anything Mann, it's good enough for me.

I'm positive I've had both hose filters - one comes in a Ryco box and the other in a Repco box. ATM i think i have the better fitting one installed -(Mann?) i'll check. My son bought it at Repco...

I don't think either world be found in a Ryco box?
The Ryco I took out of the Disco didn't fit the air box very well, it was quite a few mm smaller in all dimensions compared to a genuine one, and had the tell tale fine dust over the MAF and up the inlet duct.

Picked up a Mann from Mario.

Don't sell yourself short Mars, you stock both. We've had this exact same discussion. While many purchase on price, after rebuilding a TD5 i'll always buy quality filters, it is much cheaper and easier than rebuilding an engine.

I figured between Mahle and Mann it was 6 to one half a dozen to the other, it almost seems like splitting hairs.

Perhaps Mahle v Mann air filters You know it's not unlikely that Mann and Mahle manufacture a range for 3rd party auto parts suppliers and i was focussed on the colour of the rubber mouldings when reading the original post. Yes i should have been more specific. I checked and i have a RYCO installed atm and it is orange moulding. I have found in the past that the REPCO boxed ones have the light pink/beige coloured moulding. I'm due for a filter change, its been in since January and done 12,000 km and is looking visibly soiled and his been triggering the service indicator when the boost comes on strong. Time to try a genuine Mann filterMahle v Mann air filters

I've run Repco, Coopers and Mahle. And in that order.

I've stuck with Mahle for some time, mainly due to my proximity to Sean at Rover Parts.

I've also learnt that it doesn't matter what you use if you don't change them. Lesson learnt not quite that hard way.

Mahle Filter - 3 months use. I need a snorkel.
