MLR don't have these as a stockable item, at $1400.00 I know why.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

How much? Is that a typo?
For that money it should include the whole car....
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

The true value is $1400 and something, I missed the rest as I had a sudden drop in blood pressure. You can get a standard one a lot cheaper about $120 plus postage and modify that, as has been done.

For $1,400 you could probably get one CNC milled (or at the very last laser cut) to your exact specifications..... and have something REALLY unique.

I made my own by just buying some stainless mesh with the greatest airflow /strength, and bent and sikaflexed it into a grille I bought second hand.
Looks much like the Saudi grille and AFAIK gives good airflow.
One day I will do the grille under the bumper.
BTW, I reckon it looks pretty flimsy and wonder how it would go with a bird strike, but I guess it is a balance between strength and airflow.
My total cost was AFAIR about $120 for 2 metres of mesh and $80 for a SH grille, and a can of pressure pack touch up at $20. If you used your own grille it would be cheaper.
I have plenty of mesh left to make another one.
I posted pics at the time. It has had no problems with its construction.

Can you be specific re what mesh you used / where you got it?
I'm considering making up a custom grille for my Defender and haven't been able to find anything appropriate.

OK I did a bit of digging.
    The supplier was EZImetal(ezimetal.com.au)
    14 Motto lane Heatherbrae
    02 49874210
    email contact@ezimetal.com.au
    The product was
    Stainless 304 woven wire
    Aperture 5.6mm
    wire diameter-0.9mm
    width-1525MM
    qty1metre.
it cost $114.50 including $25 freight
I chose that as it had a void ratio near 70% which was one of the largest available, although the Land Rover stuff seems to have more void.
For a Defender you may not need the wide stuff.
    Regards Philip A
