I run a clear bit of tubing off the bottom of it down to a tap that I have tied up at the bottom of the shock tower. it allows you to empty the crappy oil into a jar for disposal. I do it every month or so. It is surprising what it catches and how much was going back into intake.

Some people don't bother with the tap and just let it drip on the ground. But I prefer to keep it a bit cleaner.

I essentially did that, with a slightly different bracket. I'm not sure what turbo that is, but it is different to mine. I made up a support bracket to hold the top pipe, as it is a little heavy and to get it up above the turbo/manifold as I don't have a heat shield.

and connected my hoses the other way around to the pics :)

and drilled out the nutserts and used an m8 bolt. Same with my bracket, I just thought the m6 nutserts might be a bit small for hanging that extra weight off it and the vibrations.

are you still fitting a turbo blanket if so have you noticed any improvement

no it's sitting in my tub of spares.

I really struggled with getting it onto the turbo without it fouling on the wastegate or oil feeds. I put it in the too hard basket at the time and had forgotten about it until now. So I might have another crack at it.

Me too. Plus my turbo cartridge turned up on Friday, but with so many family issues being juggled in the air, looks like I won't find time to fit it before we leave for the midwest on Wednesday. Would have been good to have it on for comparison purposes towing my 3T+ brick.

Installed mine last friday, have been on a 1000km journey from saturday morning to sunday and used the Disco the week as daliy Driver.
First, i feel no difference. Maybe (!) a little bit easier reving over 2500 rpm. But i have a really good Fuelmap from Stormtuning. And all you have written about the CHRA i have had before alone with the map. So the improvment is not sooo much like with an original map.

Installing was easy. Did it without removing the Turbo like described here. Two hours and done. Only little taps with the hammer to remove the old CHRA was not enough... Destroyed the old one, had to use heat and Force to remove it...

Now, after a week the turbowhistling is noticable. Have not heard my Turbo before.

I did not changed for Performance Gain, had lots of oil in the Hoses, Hope its dry now. Will open some Hoses tomorrow and Check.

Ah, Fuel Consumption, i think here is an improvment. Reached 9,4l/100km. This is about half an Liter less for 100 km as i am used for this Trip. [bigsmile1]

All the turbo core claims is give to the engine more airflow at low-mid revs.
Unless you are taking advantage of that added airflow by injecting more fuel the core won't make very much difference regards of whether you are running StormTuning or StockTuning.

I was away for a couple of weeks, and missed delivery last week.

The courier dropped the package off today, and it's clearly had a bit of a hard time between UK and AUS. Not sure what actually happened but when I contacted Turbo Rebuilders they got back to me saying the package hadn't arrived in Aus. I have no idea if the Tel Aviv entries are actual transit points or just operation centres.

Fortunately the core itself was well packed in foam so that seems to be ok, however there was an "x-rayed" sticker buried under 2-3 other stickers and the package has obviously been opened at some point. The tape on the inner box was cut and hadn't been re-sealed.

The biggest PITA is that all the other bits - oil, o-ring and copper washers - have vanished and there is no warranty information.

As there is apparently little to no performance benefit from fitting said core, I'm not too fussed about waiting for replacement o-ring to turn up. Just hope that it takes a more direct route this time.

Mine had been opened too, it had "resealed" sticky tape all over. I assumed it had been opened because it had a syringe filled with oil in the box with the turbo. Everything was in mine though. You can probably use the old o ring - mine looked brand new when I took it out.
