Headlight - Dipped Full Beam LED bulb replacement

I have an ARB Winch Bar on my D2a and with a bit of patience working out which way to turn/twist the headlight housing they Do come out through the bar eventually [thumbsupbig]
I didn't change the 130% globes in the Low beam because I personally don't think that LED's are appropriate to use for low beam because of the extra brightness affecting other road users.
I also managed to put my dust covers back on, Maybe it was because I was able to take the light assembly completely off the truck and work on it on a bench instead of struggling with the retaining clip and the rest of it in the fiddly little bit of space between the bar and the grill.

I do have them. You made the right call getting the heat sink ribbon type. The fans are known to fail then cause over heating issues. Most of these LED headlights will detect when they get too hot and the lights will dim, so if you feel like they are flickering or appear to switch to less intensity there is a good chance they are either overheating or too cheap. ( I tried a cheap set and they were no good)

I've fitted mine with the box unit inside the light assembly and have been able to close the cap as per normal.

Also mine are only fitted to low beam, the reason is because lower frequency light (more yellow) travels further, so it is counter productive putting whiter/bluer lights in the high beam. I run normal halogen H7 high beams. But I do have HID spot lights and an LED light bar.

Where did you get that idea from? Rayleigh scattering is not going to have much of an effect over a few kilometres.

I'm not referring to the scatter effect. It is not quite the same thing, i'm pretty sure that contributes to what objects appear certain colors. Opposed to how frequency effects what distance light will travel.

The best analogy I can come up with is with sound waves, low frequency base notes travel further than high frequency notes like symbols for example.

It doesn't have to be this scientific, simply swap the lights and check for yourself. Although depending on eye sight it may not make much difference for some, if an object 400m up the road is blurry it may not matter how much light you put on it, it still won't be in focus.

The listing says. Not reccommended for highway use. So I assume the users of these sorts of lights only use them off road, and do the right thing and remove them for everyday on road driving???? Maybe it's time the plods have a blitz on all these annoying to other road users retro fitted lights.

There are more important things in life to be concerned about Mars. I don't get flashed from other road users so I assume there is no issue. The only reason they say this is because the ADR's cannot keep up with technology, just like everyone else. They don't have the same issue HID lights have so no need to tar them with the same brush. Don't hold your breath waiting for this to occur Mate, there are far too many self entitled people that don't give a **** about other road users.
On another note I have never had a problem with trucks with stupidly bright low beams and I have been driving since 1971, I have also noticed this practice of using Fog lights inappropriately and high intensity low beams is a relatively new yet unfortunate practice.
Maybe it's a Millennial thing [bigwhistle]
