Looking at microcat from lrparts.ru/engl, The headlight globes on the D2a, the face model are H7's both the main beam and the high beam.
I am getting myself in a muddle. One of the main dipped-beam headlight bulbs has blown, not my full-beam headlight. The replacement on a D2A is an H7, as would it be an H4 on a D2. So on fleabay, when I buy an H7 bulb, it says headlight, but this would still be the right bulb for the dipped beam headlight, right ? or wrong ?
Just wanted to check ?
Matt.

I am not sure that Fitting LED's into your Low beams is such a good idea as you will probably Blind oncoming traffic with them.
The D2a Update model headlights are H7's low and high beam.

Should be OK AFAIK. With separate dipped and high beam headlamps, it's the shape of the reflector and the position of the 'bulb' that determines whether is a dipped or high beam.
That said, as Trout mentioned, it might be good to check your alignment after fitting LED replacements to ensure the upper cut-off is not too high for oncoming drivers. The cut-off might move with different 'bulbs'.

Thanks Gents, I finally found the section in the hand book and it lists both bulbs as H7 55 Watts. I have been reading a few posts previously on the topic of blinding on-coming traffic, and do date no-one has said they have had a problem and have been flashed, so going to suck it and see.
I do a fair bit of night driving where there are no street lights and plenty of wildlife, so worth a try and will happily report back if there is a problem and how much better they are over the current Halogens.
Thanks for your help.
Matt.
There are LED bulbs and then there are LED bulbs. Have had great success with these babies (I have the h4 version in my motorcycle):

I hope they work well 'cause I have a pair on order for my low beam.
As H4s they were no good, I could not adjust them correctly but as reflector alignment not the glass I'll give them a try.
Cheers
Mike

I specifically went for the ones without the fans as I read in an earlier post about the restricted space. But I am now thinking I will have a problem fitting these into the D2a as they are a sealed unit, and now there will be the problem of them overheating ?
My thinking last night was that it might be better to get the fan units and then modify the cap on the light unit and extend it a little so the bulb fits in.
I spent a lot of time searching through older posts on the topic, but didn't come across anything definitive that works on a D2a ? If anyone can point me in the direction of this or any other feedback on whether the ribbon type will fit a 2a, that would be greatly appreciated.
I fitted a set of LED's with fans into my D2a high beams and had No problem replacing the little dust cover.I specifically went for the ones without the fans as I read in an earlier post about the restricted space.
