You only get one shot at life, Aim well
2004 D2 "S" V8 auto, with a few Mods gone
2007 79 Series Landcruiser V8 Ute, With a few Mods.
4.6m Quintrex boat
20' Jayco Expanda caravan gone
I want one - how much?
and the blood part of it I'm still paying for, hand my 20 stitches removed today!!
Well I've solved the door stay problem on the build!.....involved some cutting, welding & modifications and to be honest is a lot of work for what it is but very happy with the resulting door stay.... The gas strut idea was just never going to work due to space limitations so I improvised!! Needs a bit of tiding but all good
Fridge slide cable management system, Rear door stay for camping setup, 20l jerry can mounted under left side rear, Extra Front Mounted Transmission cooler finished with fan, Front cross member spacers made to clear prop after 2" lift
TOtally stealing that jerry can setup. Very nice.
haha.......very nice is what I thought after scratching my head for days about where to put the bloody thing then realised it fitted there like a glove! Having pretty much exhausted everywhere else on the car due to things mounted all over the place this was perfect.
Only modification needed is to the support strut attached to the rear mudflap - Drill out the 2 rivets holding it in place and turn it around so it sits higher in the arch than before if that makes sense.....as this allows the jerry can to sit flat against the chassis...
I was going to weld up some form of bracket to hold it in place but to be honest the ratchet strap is perfectly fine and there is already places to mount the hooks, there is a hole up in side the rear quarter placed very well for one side and the other is wrapped around the chassis and attached to the tie down point by the fuel tank....
This build is awesome.
I think its it's probably one of the best D2 tourers I've ever seen.
Love that rear door and shelving set up and the hidden JERRY can is genius.
On the inverter note note I think it's got to do with concerns over 240v cables between the inverter outlet and the new outlet chaffing and putting high voltage through the car.
Im inspired.
Thanks for posting.
