Yes to changing the seal. No to using a second hand part.

I have a second hand balancer on my engine - but like all second parts you pay the money and take your chances. Experts can generally tell by looking at the rubber if it is OK - but if it is on a vehicle that cannot afford to break down then get new.

The other thought is - is it really worth replacing a worn part with another worn part? Unless ur looking at selling the car in the near future I'd use a new part
