Its a different remap to the first one on a different ECU so I don’t believe that it could be wrong twice.
Let us know how it goes and in the mean time I'll keep thinking it over.

No leaks and when running and hot no issues with either ECU’s Mapped or not.
ECU wasn’t removed to do the latest remap
Is the fuel pump an aftermarket or VDO, even new aftermarket fuel pumps can fail quickly, if it's noisy then it's probably aftermarket.

I'm going for a compression test first...😕 shouldn't have to glow it at all above freezing with a td5 operating on good cylinder pressures...

The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

VDO mate but also checked that with another as I have seen genuine ones fail also.

    Hey Justin,
Wouldn’t it behave the same no matter what ECU mapped or not?
Not only that it just seems too symmetrical in the way it reacts.
    Cheers

Also when it has the mapped ecu I have no acceleration for the first 5 seconds even though diagnostics reads everything is working. I have changed the pedal out as well with no change just as a precaution.

After listening again this morning and comparing to a couple of others here, the pump is definitely running too long for my liking. I think I will change out the fuel filter block.
Ill let you know later in the day if any changes occur.

If it is prior to 2001 the pump may not even time out. Some are like that.

Had a similar start issue, it turned out to be injector seals. Not a big job to do, and plenty of guides. I used to have to prime mine 3 to 4 times after sitting over night. seals done issue fixed. disregard failed to read first post.
