    Nanocom VIN locked?

    Hi,
    does anyone know if the Nanocoms are locked to a particular car/VIN? Might have one for sale if I decide not to repair the beast.

    Nanocom works by you purchasing unlock codes for your specific nanocom keyed to a specific model and engine combo.

    e.g. mine is unlocked for a D2 Td5. Would need a further individual nanocom specific unlock code for D2 V8, D3 TDV6, RRS etc.

    Model only

    Nanocom is locked to a model (or models if you buy 'keys' for various models).
    Mine is strictly Disco II TD5 Auto, I can set up any TD5 Disco but not a V8 without I buy another 'key' or licence for another model.
    If I were to buy a Disco III V8 diesel I would just have to buy the licence for that model and download it to my Nanocom.

    Oh, so I'm looking at getting a D3 V8, I can use my existing Nanocom, just buy a new code?

    You’ll also need a different Nanocom to vehicle cable as well, the Can-Bus cable for the D3 Shop - NANOCOM Diagnostics
