    TD5 Radiator replacement

    Hi All,

After faffing about with repairs to the snapped overflow spout and not getting good results I'm replacing the radiator.

Just follow RAVE?? any helpful tips?

Can you remove the complete radiator and intercooler in one?
Was going to flush the intercooler while I'm at it anyway.

    Thanks Lemo

Pain the backside to remove them. There was an update to the radiator that removed the external coolant line to the oil cooler. I went that way years ago, and it allows you to remove the small hose under the turbo, and block off the external pipe on the oil cooler as well.

Yep, its not a straight forward job, everything comes out. Headlights, trim, grill, horns, intercooler (seperate this, its easy). You can do it without removing the fan but its probably easier to remove the fan. I hope you've got small hands too.

I did not remove the ATF cooler, and I recommend you dont remove it also. I would not interfer with those connectors from the ATF hoses because they can be prone to blowing off and dumping all of the ATF.
    Cheers

    Coolant hose leaking from wedding

So Replaced radiator and hose PIH100040 (Header tank to fuel cooler to matrix) as the old original one was leaking out the webbing of the hose!!
Replaced with bearmarh OEM hose and it's doing the same
I should have know better but it's all the supplier had locally and need one asap!!

So was going to install a 5/8 brass or alloy coolant T in place of the vulcanised section as this is probably the spot for the ingress of coolant.

    Any one done this??

Have asked Roverlord for a genuine but off to Tassie next Monday and not sure if it'll turn up on time??

    Cheers Lemo
