    Reversing lights

    Hi all,
Little issue. Reversing lights don't work and there is no rear wiper action when in reverse with the front wipers on. If I've read RAVE right the fuse is F25 (inside 15A) and that is also OK. Fuse and lamps tested by substitution with known good ones. The brake lights are also on F25 (again, if I'm reading RAVE right) and they work just fine.

At this point I'm assuming the switch or its connector is on holiday.

Question is where is the switch? I'm (again) assuming it's on the top of the gear box and that the centre console needs to come out to get at it. I'd rather not go through that palaver though unless I absolutely have to. Are there any other "things" in the circuit that I could test in order to make good and sure that it IS the switch or its connector before I embark on the console removing journey ?

If someone was asking me the question about their car I'd say "learn to live without reversing lights" but I HATE having cars that leak anything and have stuff that doesn't work but should. Probably not desirable attributes for a Land Rover owner...

    Thank you Sir.
Where RAVE shows C0686 and C0687 I have a bolt head there. The switch appears to be in a spot further forward and up towards the car floor and it looks like the switch will be hard to get to. When I can get to it tomorrow I'll test it by bridging the two wires and see if the reversing lights come on. If they work I'll send a quick message to Roverlord for another switch. Then I'll have to work out how to get at it.

If fuses all Ok...then reverse switch in passenger side of gear box. Can change from underneath using a spanner but a pain in the rear to do. I did mine on a hoist which was easier. Probably easier from above with console off but that too is a longish job.

I'll break out the multimeter and test it tomorrow to make sure but I reckon a quick PM to Mario will be in order seeing as the brake lights work and the rear wiper doesn't do its bit in reverse..
