Thread: CDL Dash Light MY2000 TD5

Hi all,

I have just finished putting in a CDL into my Disco and I tried to test that the CDL light on the dash illuminates when selected before I put it all back together.

It seems my CDL dash light doesn't work. I also note that the CDL light does not illuminate when ignition is turned on like the rest of the warning lights (HDC, tres amigoes, trailer light etc).

Following an AULRO search about this I have tried cleaning the terminals on what I think is the switch on the transfer case (see arrow in pic) and have toggled the CDL on and off 10x.

I was wondering if anyone had some other suggestions about the cause and hopefully solution to this?

Also, which way is CDL engaged (L or R as per orientation of pic)?


Edit: I should have searched more before writing this -- apparently the car has to move before the CDL light illuminates -- can someone confirm this?
