It is 100% not sealant. It's made of rubber but doesn't actually seal anything, it's more of a finisher to help hide the gap between the glass and body.
The rubber is breaking down on my 2003 D2, cracking and leaving black water runs when I wash it.

Maybe it comes with the windscreen sealant kit? I have never phsycally seen the kit. Do a search of the kit on google ( not just the adhesive) and see if there is a picture of what it includes.
Mine has the same 'trim' which has cracked/perished with age and UV.
Found some info on a possible seal type that may work.
I have no idea whether it's original fitment or not, or how it looks on a finished job .. nor where to get it in Aus .. but any info is better than no info!
Look for the T-202 finisher product in this cataloge:
GGG Auto mouldings
Product self adheres to the window, then the window is fitted, so on a currently installed window, it'd need to be removed for the finishing strip to be fitted.
No one has taken up my earlier suggestion of going to a major windscreen fitting place and asking them, it costs nothing to ask. Surely after replacing windows they would have some so idea?
