    Rear quarter window seal

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a rubber seal for the rear quarter window, can find them for the d1 but not the d2...are they the same?

Rear quarter door, or rear quarter panel ?

I'm assuming the rear door quarter light seal?

If it's that window seal(on the rear door) it's called the quarter light.
Part No. should be CGE101510(do a web search).

Only info I can't find is if it suits both a D2 and a D1?

Rear quarter window is usually referring to the rear quarter panel in most landy parts places.
If it's this seal you're after, I didn't think there was one on the D2, as that rear side window is bonded.
On the D1 that side window(rear quarter panel) uses the old style rubber seal setup .. why it's easier to find than a D2 type.

I mean the rear quarter panel, Ive never really heard of anyone refering to a door as being rear quarter, it sounds a little redundant

Yes the window was bonded, and it definately had a rubber seal which was bonded between the glass and panel...which i thought strange for a bonded window.

I took the window and panel out myself from a scrapyard d2, and want to make sure I have all the parts before I rit the damaged panelmout of mine.......however, I suspect that this wasnt the factory fit panel in the scrapyard car, so its quite posible whoever installed the window fitted it erroneously.... maybe i should check out mine and see if i can see the same seal component

From when mine was broken by a caravan park manager with a whipper snipper, I recall it is just a sheet of glass (RH with with the radio antenna in it) with no border which is glued in place with Sikaflex.

I can confirm that both my rear quarter light windows on my 2003 D2 have this rubber trim, and also the rear quarter panel from a different D2 that I bought. So I would say it is definitely factory fitted. But I've just had a quick look on the Russian Microcat site and can't see the rubber, or the glass for that matter.

As far as I am aware they are bonded. There is a listing in JLR EPC which replaced the now obsolete microcat. They list finishers but list them for commercial variants. STC61798 and STC61799

Yeah, that was the first thing I assumed(common vernacular in Aus).
But that small rear window on the rear doors is called a quarter light window .. so just making sure.

I have 2 D2s, '99 and '00 and they do seem to have a rubber seal between glass and body, I assumed that this rubber is part of the window .. and not a seal in itself per se.

Have a peek at RAVE page 76-4-5 and it describes the removal and fitment of the side windows.
    It says to:

... use a Kent knife and carefully cut through sealant to release glass from body.
Says nothing of a rubber strip as such, only this 'sealant' .. which is what mine looks more like, rather than a rubber strip.

    For refitment:

    11. Apply a continuous bead of sealant to sealant
    face on glass as shown.
    12. Position glass to body and align to reference
    tape.
    13. Lightly press glass to ensure correct profile.
    14. Secure glass with tape until sealer has cured.
Again, nothing there about replacing or renewing any strips.
So it seems with part 13. the sealant forms a rubber strip looking seal with the correct profile, when glass is pressed with light pressure.
    Arthur.

Sounds like STC61798 is considered a redundant part by land rover, not really sure what to do now other than try to fit the window without it!
