well, I finally managed to get an STC61798 and its the wrong part!

Looked again at the rubber in question and it appears to be fixed to the window with double sided tape, Im wondering if its actually supplied as part of the window???

As I mentioned earlier, As far as I am aware they are bonded. There is a listing in JLR EPC which replaced the now obsolete microcat. They list finishers but list them for commercial variants. STC61798 and STC61799

Maybe call into a windscreen replacement place and get them to have a look at your vehicle.
I was talking to Land Rover and they couldn't give me an insight, as far a the guy I spoke said , it's just the glass.

Can you post a picture of your window and this seal?

It doesnt have a seal, it's fitted with sealant, it seems that some modells have that finisher which is just for aspect, the dedicated stuff for it is
    BHM705L superseded by CES500020:

Is this basic window sealant, would it also fix the solid panels found in D2 vans?

That's a perfecly applied sealant finished from factory which looks like a seal IMO, that's what you have to cut with the kent knife on removal as shown in RAVE

I did consider this, but its wrong.

What the picture shows is cured rubber with an adhesive between the rubber and glass, there is a sealant bead is inside this that fixes the glass to the body which when you remove the window can be seen to be clearly separate from the rubber and indeed a different material.

Actually calling it a seal may be misleading, its probably little more than a trim, because it definitely doesn't do any sealing, maybe its only job is to prevent the sealant bead from oozing out beyond the glass.

Interesting... What's certain is that it's not available as spare
