    Bullbar choices for a D2, '04 TD5

    Hi All,

Have started to look around for a bullbar to suit my 04 D2 and I'm starting to discover that secondhand they seem to be in short supply! It may well be that new will be the only way to go. I want the style that incorporates the bumper lights like the ECB Aluminum bar from Ultimate4xd in WA. They are a bit far from me as I'm in NSW, so avoiding freight charges would be nice.

Anyone know of other choices that they could suggest?

    Happy NY everyone too!

    Cheers, Peter

Depends on your budget. ARB (2 to choose from) are really expensive but I think are the best looking down to xrox which are the cheapest but give minimal protection There is a lot of choice depending on what you want (protection or clearance). Second hand are few and far between but you have to keep looking and searching.

I have an MCC bullbar. It was pretty cheap ($1350? From memory). Not the greatest or strongest build when compared to the major brands, but I’m happy with it. Is winch compatible (haven’t bought one yet) and airbag compliant. Have bent it already just under the number plate running the front into the ground in a mud hole, but nothing catastrophic. The original mounts had cracks in the welds after 1 week, so I returned the vehicle for replacement with no issues. Had it on for a few years now.

As Pedro said, TJM and ARB only build to batch, and both manufacturer their D2 bars OS these days, Thailand for ARB, PRC for TJM.

I needed to get a new bar four months ago and TJM had stock, ARB were waiting for a run to go through and the smash repairs still waited three weeks for the TJM bar

And ARB from memory have dropped the non-winch bar and only do the winch bar and as already mentioned... in batches

secondhand bars do come up but are rare, I have one at the moment, that I offered to a customer, they umm'd and arrr'd so much, I've now decided to keep it for a project.

Pretty sure ECB are in Brisbane, not really that far from NSW.

I had an ARB winch bar put onto my 2004 D2a about a year ago for $2200 fitted.
They are a very good bar and I haven't had any issues with mine even after 3 roo strikes and plenty of winching, Well worth the money as far as I am concerned and they also look great as well

ARB's Sahara bar looks nice, doesn't cover the lights but shows off the bonnet Land Rover lettering nicely.
