    This is a Bit Alarming!

My D2 TD5 does not seem to be arming the alarm.
When I lock the car with the remote key button I get 1 long flash of the indicators.
When I unlock the car with the remote it unlocks but the indicators do not flash at all.
After locking I have checked the dash light & it is not on or flashing.

I pulled the fuse for the audible alarm & it is OK.

    Any other ideas?

    Ta

Maybe a previous owner disabled in via a diagnostic device .. like I did to my brothers TD5, and to my own V8(D2) when I had my hands on the nanocom.

Brothers' caused us grief stuck in a shopping centre car park one hot arvo, car full of melting groceries, and as I was doing some work on it for a bit, I disabled it ... not wanting a repeat of that saga.
Also did my V8 as I'm doing some work to it too.

You can enabled/disable the alarm, and a few other options in there via something like the nanocom.

If you have then sensors in roof lining lock ya self in car then wave ya arms around it should set off alarm. My dog is still to scared to move in my car even after I unplugged them, as it scared him ****less.

Mine flashes 3 times when locking and once unlocking, so as mentioned by AK83 it's probly neen disabled by nanocom

    OK, thanks.
When I get my Nanocom thing I will see if I can re-enable it.
If it gives false alarm I guess I will re-disable it.
I would like it working though.
    Thanks again.

Nah! it wasn't any false alarm moment, it immobilised and disabled the car, so wouldn't start.
Turned out that it was just a dodgy start battery.
We eventually found the EKA code, but didn't fully understand how to implement it.
Searching found the correct procedure, got the car started .. etc.

It was about a year back now, so memory is a bit hazy on exact details, but I think battery dipped to about 12v, maybe a bit more or less. But we got a new battery and started over again.
Haven't had any issues after that tho(I guess due to the new battery).

So it's good to be aware of potential issues.

I read that sometimes superlock can cause problems in D2s, so I think I disabled that too(via nanocom).

A noisy alarm, I guess, you could put up with until you sorted out any alarm anomalies, but an immobilised car is a right PITA at the most inopportune times.
