TD5 Auto Box - select higher gear

Looking for advice from those who know. Recently my auto box (TD5 2003 Auto has decided that when going up hill and pulling at about 3000 rpm that it will select a higher gear, the box will not kick back however will change down manually.

If I do not change back manually the D2 slows down however does make it up the hill. (the hill is steep and is known locally as the camel humps)

Box has been serviced recently and I do have a secondary cooler, the AT temps sit between 60C and 70C.

    Appreciate any advice.

    Thanks

Are you sure that the box is not just locking up the TC?

If you get to 70KMH in third on a steep hill it will lock the TC and stay locked until it drops to 50KMH. Then it will change down to second.

I found this a bit frustrating when trying to hold speed up steep hills towing my camper as it was like a roller coaster.

When it is changed into this "Higher Gear" what are the rpm and road speed?
