In the reservoir to pump or the return from box to reservoir hoses it's no pressure but be aware that in the pump to box hose it's up to 100 Bar so i doubt that a simple hydraulic hose would be apropriate for that one

Has anyone replaced the power steering hoses that run under the radiator and back with standard hydraulic hose? I am tossing up replacing the hoses as they are pretty old, but don’t want to pull the radiator etc.
thought I might cut the ends off, leave the original in situ, and reuse the ends with hydraulic hose between. Thoughts? I have already done this with the reservoir to pump hose. But it doesn’t have any end fittings.
It’s for a td5 auto if that makes a difference.

I would not be doing that.
The factory pipes work as a very basic radiator to reduce the heat in the PAS fluid. Replacing with hydraulic will give very little heat transfer.

Around 1990 I asked a hydraulic company to make me up some hoses for my 1966 Dodge Phoenix. When I told them it was for the power steering they refused to do it for legal reasons. As well as the good advice from sierrafery and kelvo it could void insurance.
