I'll have a look later but there should be a switch for the heated screen in the loom?? Would this be around the binnacle??
Could then just get another switch similar and change the label to an LED symbol and this should operate the relays without much hassle??

Possibly, and by the design of the switch itself, I'd say it will be binnacle mounted.

Only problem with using it that way would be that the switch signal first has to go via the ECU air temperature control, and then from there into the BCU at pins 13/14.
I'd assume that they'll be controlled via some ambient temperature values(heat/humidity/whatever) and control the voltages to the unused plugs.
What this would mean is that to simply wire up a light bar up there via this method may not work due to the various ECUs adapting themselves thinking they're controlling the screen elements.

May come but then switch themselves off(as you'd expect a heated screen to do, just like rear demisters can do) .. dunno, never had experience with how a heated front screen works.
I know that the rear demister in the D1 does turn itself off if forgotten.

I'd say it'd be better to take the feed for those two unused plugs after the BCU(pink and brown wire) and wire up your own plug to whatever switch you want from there.

I suspected that LR would have made it overcomplicated to use a spare bit wiring for another purpose
