Okay..... I've missed a few replies here, so apologies and thanks. How does ACE alter the car off road? Does it get in the way of the Discos natural suppleness?

Seems like I have a golden opportunity here...

Back in D2 days there was a TV show using D2s in the bush. The occupants were constantly being tossed about in stark contrast to how my D2 with ACE behaved when going slowly enough for the bars to be unlocked or when using my ACE speed signal modifier to tell ACE that the speed was 2 kph to keep the bars unlocked. However I found ACE far too firm over 40 kph on my local back-road sealed roads - firmer than my previous non-ACE D2 on which I eventually removed a link from a front bar, so normally set my ACE speed to below 40 kph to keep ACE's rough road capability alive.

Careful with ACE it can give you a false sense of security, you tend to drive faster around corners etc as the tilting motion is not as much. if you over do it you can fall into trouble.

Hi Johntins, I have recently just completed this upgrade on my D2 From another D2. It was a bit of messing around getting the lines out and into My car. If you have access to a hoist lift the body off will make it easier. i fitted it without doing this but it was a pain i had to tussle with the pipes to get them in. The back pair was probably the worst. i fitted it more for off road (shhhh don't tell the wife) as i went out with a D2a that had it and it had heaps more travel than mine and a Mates with stock sway bars. Now the body Lift is in it would have been so much easier. you will need the Loom from the orange plug under the bonnet at the fuse box. this loom goes all the way around underneath the car. i just pulled the pins i needed that went to the Valve block and fitted to the plug already in my car.
