    Suspension Lift, 2".

Looking into a 2" suspension for lift for my D2.
Any recommendations to the better options out there? TerraFirma and Ironman seem to be the better of the options that I have looked into.

I did a search, but most threads were a pretty old.

    Suspension Lift, 2".

I had one done by Les Richmond Auto in Melbourne late last year. I’m really happy with it, so have a look. The team are easy to talk to and won’t sell you stuff you don’t need.

Recently installed new front springs/shocks +2” (Dobinson) from superior engineering near Brisbane. The rear is coils with airbag helpers (dobinson) installed by the previous owner. Found the guys at Superior to be helpful and competitive with price (supply only-I fitted myself). I’m very happy with the set up, But don’t do anything hardcore. Daily driver and some weekend fun. Recently just did a 2 inch lift to replace the worn out out shocks and springs. I went with dobinson coils and bilstein shocks, ride is night and day from where it was. Today was the first day off road with them and its a totally different car.

I bought the coils from superior engineering and the shocks came from sparesbox (online aussie shop i found)

Coils are Front c51 - 052 (heavy duty)
    Rear c51 - 027v ( 220 constant load to gvm)

Shocks are bilstein 994 and 995

Steer clear of Terrafirma IMO, i've had only bad expoeriences with theyr's products, damper which failed in less than 3 years, blown brake hose, steering damper which made it worst than without it.

if you lift it and you have ACE recalibrate the accelerometers after that for the system to work at 100% capacity

Don't go near terrafirma. Mine didn't last four years. The shocks were ruined. Running on Les Richmond springs now with Bilstein shocks. Never been happier.

I've got Dobinson +2" coils, with the extra load (+40kg) units on the front and the non-progressive rear springs fitted with Polyair's. The shock absorbers are Pedders Track Rider. The springs are great, the shockers are a little bit too firm for everyday driving, they would be OK if fully loaded all the time. I've been looking at FOX shockers too, but cannot comment on how they perform as I've not brought them yet.

At the risk of starting a prop-shaft discussion about Tom Woods prop-shafts, I HIGHLY recommend fitting an adjustable padhard rod to correct the track. This puts less stress on the double Cardan joint in the front prop-shaft. It will then be less susceptible to the D2 front prop-shaft failure after a 2" lift syndrome. So you may not have to purchase a Tom Woods prop-shaft for a copious amount on money.

Call Les Richmond and ask their opinion, I'm sure they will agree. APT a site sponsor is able to supply D2 and D2a adjustable panhard rods, yes they are different the D2a rod is shorter. APT Offroad

    I hope that helps.

I am going through the same, looks like I'll be going Dobinsons shocks, springs and damper. I spoke to Dobinsons at Brendale (Brisbane) they were really helpful.

Still thinking of the Bilstein Dobinson combo though.

Have you gone through with your choice?
