Yeah...kinda still have the annoying vibration sound at 2100 RPM. Still getting around to checking the handbrake to see if it’s the culprit. That’s gotta be more annoying!

Also check the tightness/ringiness of your disc brake guards too.
I had this recently on my D1(Tdi) .. at a particular engine speed I'd hear a metallic vibration.
It would occasionally happen whilst standing still, ie. at about 1900RPM or so but sitting in neutral.
Checked all brake guard bolts for tightness, then did a ringing test.
Just tap the guard with something to hear the length and pitch of the metallic sound it makes.
Should make some sound, obviously, but shouldn't ring for too long. My guess is that one of them will sound different to the others.
Mine was the passengers side rear guard that made the noise.
All nuts tight, no more metallic vibration when standing still, although it came and went on some road surfaces.
I mucked about with it again, but this time I had the wheel off, and bent it into a more 'acoustically pleasing' shape
.. where 'acoustically pleasing' = nothing! And bent = pulled it this way and that way by hand till the tapping/ringing test changed the duration and pitch of the noise :D
At least that's one vibration noise sorted out of a major symphony of them! :bat:
