people need to clean the dust out of their cars more often [bigwhistle]
Just back from 10 days in Tasmania. Fairly stock standard 2002 td5 disco clocked up 350,000 whilst there. Did 2000 kms averaged 9.6l/100.

would love the economy of my TD6 in a range rover classic - but I have too many projects already :) I thought TD5's did a bit better as they aren't as much a brick as L322's?
I've only ever seen 11.5l/100km out of the Disco, although it does still have a parachute on top.
I doubt of I'll ever see anything close to 10, I like to travel at the speed limit. [emoji14]
You can guarantee that when uninformed drops in next and we lift the tent off that I'll decide to go camping two weeks later too...
Just for interest;
(I bought the TD4 because one of my criteria was 7.0L/100km (combined) to make it to my possibles-list; if it had been 7.1 I'd have bought something else!!). Highway is supposed to be 5.6 or something (ha-ha!).
6-speed auto (9-speed might get better?); 110kw/420nm; - most tanks involve about 30-60km of trailering. Incidentally, that 'worst' reading was a 400km trip with trailer, 200km of that towing full 2-tonnes, much at 110kph.
I'm a schizo mix of lead-foot & pussy-foot. I basically run 8.5 highway & 9.5 around town, have recorded all but 3 fills over 110,000km & 6 & 1/2 years.
Anecdotally, the 'ingenium' motors are almost as hard to get the promised mpg out of...
We're still very fond of our baby LR - nicknamed 'Bruce'.
Phideaux.
A trip to the Gold Coast and back ( around 455kays) for a wedding resulted in a 6.3Klm per litre return using LPG at 71cpl,,
15.8L per hundred, 17.7mpg.
That included half an hour city traffic.
not sure how to better that,,,,
maybe a tailwind[bighmmm]
that gives me a 800klms range just on lpg,, add on the 45l of PULP and OMG,,
Pedro that's spot on for LPG m8. Nice one. Cheers
its great when it ALL works,,, [bigrolf]
I get around two hours driving nowadays before my back says enough,,
which is fine as we only ever travel around an hour between camps[wink11]
Buying LPG at 71c/l ?
Can’t get it around here for less than around 82c/l,most are 84 to 86.
Or was that a while ago?
Our vans get around 400 to 450 km out of 60 litres of LPG,whatever that works out to be.
Not bad I recon as they are almost on GVM.
As a comparison,the diesel we also have,identicle vehicle does either 10 or 10.5 l /100 all day.
So fuel costs for both are very similar, but servicing for the diesel slightly more.
And LPG is getting harder to find, many garages have got rid of it,and in regional areas, prices are rediculous.
