    D1 Bonnet on a D2

    Hi Learned All
Have had a front end oops in my '99 D2 V8 and have done a bonnet and grill and bumperettes and ... and ...
Did some searches on the forum and have come up with no suitable answers sooooo, will a D1 bonnet fit a '99 D2?????
I have a donor D1 and from what I can work out so far it looks like it should but just asking before I get into it and waste a lot of time.

Have solved the black plastics part already - got a TJM bar for it and forgot about the plastics
The price of all that black stuff scared the you know whats out of me!!!!

Appreciate any insights or suggestions to get her back on the road.
For the record, luv my D2 and want to put it back nice.
    Cheers

The short answer is no, they are different. But I guess it depends on your skills.

So the lock panel on the top of the RSP is different as well.

A recent thread questioned the interchangeable bits between D1 and D2. IIRC the only bit the same was the outer skin on the rear (5th) door.

As already mentioned, it fits, bolts on BUT the latch setup is different.

Is there no reasonable source for a used D2 bonnet on that side of the country??

Its unfortunate but once you do a bonnet, grill, bumper etc etc, Insurance more often than not right off the vehicle.

I have a 2004 D2A that has been written off (financial write off) by the insurance as it needs bumper, headlights, grill, yet the vehicle is a one owner 160K pristine white SE, and I really cant bring myself to scrap it for parts.

I just used the number plate lights off my donor D1, but the actual binnacle over the handle/lights is different enough that it won't swap over.
Wheels and hubs are different, too. Which means I have three sets of wheels and tyres for the D1/trailer and only the set that came with the D2

    Thanx all for the info.
Have been away so apologies for not responding sooner.
Vehicle repairer wants 20 hours labour just to pull a slight bend on the nose - yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been trying Ebay for a bonnet and the other bits without any success so far.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a possible east coast wrecker/s that may have and will pack and freight a bonnet and other bits to Tamworth NSW.
    Cheers
