If my answer is not late.... for solar charger splice in with a scotchlok into the brown wire (pin 1) of C0028, this circuit goes directly to battery through FL8 of the engine bay fusebox

IMO scotchlocks are OK for low current applications, i've used them with success many times... off course that for higher than 5A circuits are sh*t
