    Not Happy JAN!!

    Because of work pressures I have been unable to do much with my Dico 2a TD5 for some time, including driving it.

    As a lot of bits & bobs I had ordered for it had turned up & because I wanted a few things that are niggling me fixed I decided that one of my staff who had to go to Mt Isa could drive her down & get all the things I wanted done rectified.

    So I booked her into the Auto Sparky, long winded but no problems & then for the windcreen people to have the top windscreen strip fitted & a new Phelen panel fitted.
    At about midday the windscreen bloke phones me to tell me he has cracked the windscreen while pulling it out!
    So, now I have to change the appointment for tomorrow when it was due to get the oil change & grease job. Pay another nights accommodation for my staff member (not his fault) & be without him at work for an extra day & re-arrange a time for it to go back to the Auto Sparky to have a couple of jobs finished off.

    This had better be worth all the expense & effort? Not to mention the uncomfortable feeling of having my car away & some else (Yes, I trust him, but) drive it.

    D1’s and D2’s are renowned for cracking the windscreens when trying to either remove them or work on them. I had mine crack when getting some rust fixed above the windscreen and rear Alpine windows and then getting the roof resprayed on my D1. Intensely annoying at the best of times but worse in your situation!

    Yea, had the same happen last year to my perfectly fine windscreen. Was leaking along the top/into roof lining due to poor installation. Such a frustration. Hope you get it back soon (and running better than ever!!)

    Yep windscreens are notorious and so are windscreen fitters breaking plenums.

    The D2 got back from Mt Isa yesterday after much mucking about.
    Of course the windscreen which is brand new got a chip on the way home.
    But it now has the top strip & a plenum that isn't held together with silicon & also has the little drain ends.

    But, when the mechanic changed the fuel filter he discovered the water sensor was attached to the old filter with glue & is now buggered. I will be onto Roverlord about that one.
    As far as I can tell it is the bit on the filter that the wires plug into.

    Also, not the reason I bought the car, she has a really cool stereo. It is a Clarion single Din with a fold out screen, has blu teeth, GPS & plays movies & music 1000 different ways. Unfortunately the screen had started playing up & the auto electrician could not fix it, so I have spent a bit more of SWMBO's money & ordered a new one. Jeeze, they are expensive!

    I now have a working duel battery system, working trailer brake controller (Redarc) new fog lamps (why are they made of glass??), working Anderson plug, deep cycle second battery & a few other little electrical niggles sorted.
    The A/C is freezing but while driving home my staff member said he heard a bit of a clunk & now the A/C fan is very, very noisy!

    I will look at RAVE & see how hard it is to get at.
    These cars are just a little frustrating.

    No fuel filter water sensor.

    Mine does not have the fuel water sensor. The filter gets drained every two years and replaced on alternate years.

    Not quite. Filter gets changed. One year later gets drained. One year later filter gets changed. Repeat
