    Both rear speakers cut out.

Hi there, 2003 TD5 with aftermarket head unit. Both rear speakers cut out at once, front's still work. I seriously doubt there is an issue with the actual speakers as they both cut out at once. Also don't think it would be a wiring issue as I'm assuming rear left and rear right have been run with their own cables. Too much of a coincidence for it to be the speakers or wiring if you ask me (stranger things have happened though). What do you think the most likely issue is?

I wouldn't mind getting a new head unit anyway, as this one was already installed when I purchased the Disco a few years ago and they didn't hook up the steering wheels controls. Ultimately, I want a single din head unit with a fold out screen for a reverse camera, so I avoid running over things in my driveway, including my kids . I can organise the camera myself, but would like some ideas on a relatively cheap single din head unit with fold out screen and steering wheel control compatible.

    Thanks guys, Chilla.

25 mins and you grumble already. These things take time. You can get a box that goes between the audio head and the steering wheel controls. I have one. Can’t remember the name. PAC SWI I think.

Yes, the PAC SWI can be programmed to work with the D2 steering wheel controls.

You've either got a faulty headunit internal amplifier or fault in the wiring. Swap the front and rears over on the headunit and see if the problem changes to the front, if so, the fault is with the headunit, if remains at the rear then fault in the wiring or connection is likely, if stops happening then problem solved too...
