You should have wiped it all down before the RWC and pushed it over the pits without starting it![]()
greetings one and all.
finished fitting replacement engine into a td5 i bought a few months back.
bought as parts as it had a cooked engine.
decided to save it instead.
99 td5. auto box. 16p replacement engine.
rwc yesterday.
good guys. car passed everything except for this " little oil leak "
ITS A LANDROVER doesn't count with officialdom. !!!
car not been on "sealed roads "for a decent run prior to testing.
if i read the threads correctly , then odds are it will be seal on sump.
doesn't show it in pics, but oil seems to be on adapter plate as well up to about half way up housing.
am i heading in right direction ??
thanks for any input.

It could be the rocker cover rubber gasket, they leak at the rear of the engine. Cheap quick and easy to replace.
Also, to fail RW in Vic for an oil leak it has to drip more than X amount of times in a minute. I just cannot remember what number X is. For some reason my brain is telling me 5.
It could also be the fuel pressure regulator, drivers side of the head at the rear above the stated motor.
With recent engine work check the rear 1/2 moon of the rocker cover gasket as suggested previously too.
