Replacing ball joints and steering joints

Having fun replacing ball joints and all steering joints, makes it easy when you have the right tools, those ball joints took a bit to get moving.

You have the right size hammer for the job, 2 x4 pounders are even better.
I like your stands do the tops screw out also.

Hey Stevo, which adaptors did you use with the OTC press thingy? I have one that I bought for my Jeep and I have the standard adaptors and the Jeep specific ones.

Yes the jacks also screw out, not a great amount though.

the press just had generic parts in it which did the job, if I was doing a lot of these there would be a mod done to one of the adapters.

I did one side the other weekend, took 9 hrs, similar tool but none of the adapter tubes fitted properly and ended up using sockets and bits of pipe. They fought all the way, breaker bar with a length of pipe added and lots of grunting and groaning. Will make up specific adapter tubes before i tackle the other side.

Those braided lines are they Terrafirma ones. i notice you have them fitted with a Yellow cable tie. If so is that because the retaining part of the hose falls thru the vehicle brake hose retaining bracket? The Fitting on the hose is too small to securely fit and passes thru the front bracket hole..
The reason i ask as i have a customer who has Terrafirmas hoses on his D2 and you cant fit the retaining clip.

The cable tie was put in because when I had done the lines I lost the clip, the clip is on the other side and I should get one to fit that side. Has been like that for a few years now

Ok were they terra firma ones?, as i have a complaint of a set that they go thru the braket hole so you cant put a clip on, just wondering about yours.
    Cheers, Mario
