Completely different mounting system in a D2, won't work in another vehicle.
Thought I might ask here as I guess some of you would have previously owned Disco 1's
I currently own a TD5 Defender & the rear passengers are growing up & starting to whinge about seat comfort ( fair enough).
I can source some really cheap Disco 2 rear seats & wonder if they are a step up from series 1?
I understand that series 1 seats can fit easily with a modification to the seat box & has been done on a few 110's.
I see that Disco 2 seats have a built in middle seat belt as a difference & that the end result will need certification, would anyone know if they are wider?
Thanks, David

As Nick said different mounting but D2`s are no wider than a D1
I guess a man of your talent could possibly make it work![]()
I think the seat base is about the same, but the backrest is much wider.
D1 backrest latch system has the latch on the C pillar, so there's a section of metal where the latch has to be set on the D1 .. and then it has the trim panel on top of that.
D2, the seat backrest is almost flush right up to the actual C pillar.
I'll measure them if it stops raining, but I'd say the D2 backrest width will be over 100mm wider at it's widest point, which is up at shoulder level.
Arthur.
All these discos are giving me a heart attack!
