Auto leak and head oil leak

Finally got Leaky on a hoist today, gave it a quick degrease and then a run around the block. That was all it took and you could see the fluid leaking out. Had been thinking TC input shaft seal but the inside or the bell housing wasn't reflecting the amount of ATF that was leaking out. What we found was it is coming from between the bell housing and the gearbox. Is it the TC seal or is there a gasket or some other seal or O ring in that area that fails? What am i going to need to stop it.
The oil leak seems to be coming from the back of the head between the head and the "CAM block", not from the head /block gasket join. Is there a gasket in there or is it just 2 machined surfaces bolted together. Going to do the rear main when the gearbox comes out, do i need to split the sump from the block to replace it?

Is it oil or fuel from the back of the engine ?
As it could be the fuel pressure regulator.
The head to cam block os sealed with a sealant and also has a cam plug as well. Has the head been pulled before?.
The trans check the cooler pipes there is no other oil lines around there other then the front seal and converter

Definatly oil, only recently replace the regulator and the cam plug is further over, i can feel around it and it's dry looks further up than the head gasket, head hasn't been off that i know of but i don't know the history of it other than neglected.
Have checked the pipes but it was coming from the junction of the bell housing and the gearbox case higher up from the pipes.

    SNAP !!

thank god its not just me.
never heard of this problem before. bought a project last weekend. '99 td5 auto. suspected head gasket leak. got it for a fair price so that if head was screwed i could break even by parting etc. was told auto box was new. replaced 8 mths previous.
seller drove it onto trailer. i towed it home. next day gave it a short run. everything ok. started removing head etc. looked under car. transmission fluid sprayed all over the place. coming from back of bell housing area and auto pump.
its only a gasket, but its a box out job !! please insert a few swear words !!
by the way. head was stuffed. .008th out of line. :-((((((
