    Waiting for a flat bed

    Have had a search but nothing really stands out except looks like I am up for a transmission again with this one only 80000 km old

    Quick story went to over take someone the disco flared like a over boost symptom then nothing loss of all drive no bang no fault lights even still shows gears in display
    But when I put into gear nothing revs don’t drop ( oh I checked not dropped into nuetral in transfer case )when u put into gear absolutely nothing just revs it’s ass off

    Just wanted to check to see if this has happened to anyone else while I await the tow truck

    I assume you have tried engaging Centre diff lock??

    Yeah first thing I tried should of driven my series more reliable ha ha

    So not selecting gears at all. display not changing on the dash and no red lights at the selector ??

    Display select gears has no electrical faults I am a auto sparky just no drive it’s a mechanical failure by the looks

    Check the flex plate by removing the round plate (3x8mm head bolts) and turning the torque converter by hand ( you shouldn't be able to if the flex plate is OK )

    Yeah thanks was going to look at it as there was a vibration noise like a exhaust rattle apparently over last week so mrs informs me I felt the vibration today as first time driving for a while and actually thought have a look when home but didn’t make it ha ha

    Had a quick look after work flex plate fine transmission oil not burnt nice and red popped off rear of transfer case to see if transmission turning gear while in drive with revs and nothing gear not turning so it’s either output shaft failed but there was no metal in oil clean or the brand new from zf 4 years and 63000km transmission has failed will pull transfer case off on Wednesday to check shaft
