Thread: Egr delete

I am sure others will be along to confirm or deny it but to me that would mean the EGR system was no longer operational but still would be a restriction (as small as it is) to the intake path.

I will move your post to a more relevant area of the forum.

Paul - this is in the Mods section - can you move it to the D2 pinnacles section - it will get a lot more viz there.

Fortunately the td5 ecu is not smart enough to know that the egr exhaust flow has been blanked so this basic mod does the job.
However a complete egr valve removal is the preferred option as it poses quite a restriction in air flow mainly due to its size and operation.

Yours is an eu2 so the egr operation is very limited as it relies on low or no boost situation for operation.
On eu3 engines there is a large butterfly in the egr valve which is operated to create a downstream depression at various engine loads so in a nutshell a lot more exhaust gasses can be drawn into the inlet.
Upward of 60% exhaust gasses can be introduced into the inlet using this method depending on revs and engine load.

For the cost a total removal of the egr valve is by far the best option.

On later engines the egr operation is more stringently monitored so a simple blank will generate a fault.
