				until you get the nanocom , do a stall test , ( 2600-2800 rpm is normal for stock ) lower than this indicates a problem , being stock with egr , I would suggest you start by cleaning map and maf sensors ( use contact or dedicated maf cleaner ). check intercooler hoses for holes / delamination , make sure you hear the fuel pump when you turn ign on with engine off, check for other stuff when you get the nanocom.
While not a powerhouse when stock they are quicker than a 300 tdi unless it's well tuned.
a well tuned td5 is a V8 beater.

Yeah - I know having someone experienced with D2/Td5 would have been good, but we're very time poor at present and even trying to co-ordinate with my wife for her to look at vehicles was a challenge, let alone a third person.
I'm reasonably competent on the end of a hammer and have managed to successfully beat most things into submission in the past so I'm picking the D2 won't be any different. Just need to work out the best place to hit it!!!
