    Inner gearbox gaiter AWR5526 replacement

    Hi all,

my my ineer gearbox gaitor AWR5526 on my manual D2 is split and beyond repair. I have tried glueing bike tube to it to repair the splits but it has been unsuccessful.

APart from letting in road noise and heat ( I am in the NT) it will also let in water and dust into the cab and I want to stop it from doing that.

Now the part is obsolete and no longer available. Has any one come up with a viable alternative or home made option ??

From searching ing online it appears their is a demand for the part but no one has made a aftermarket option.

Any one able to asssit. I wonder if nugget could help??

    Cheers Chris

A piece of sheet rubber cut approximately to size? With a jubilee clip to secure on the gear lever.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

A bit sad that none of the third party suppliers are remanufacturing this item.
