    BCU keys, immobiliser and alarm

    Hey team,

I have a few questions regarding keys, alarms and immobiliser. Getting a bit lost in all the key info on here.

    Specifics:

Can you still have alarm and immobiliser if you only have a mechanical key (without fob/button) without having to do the EKA sequence?

I have changed the settings with nanocom to allow me to open all doors at once with the fob and to turn off the air sensors so that i can have the windows down slightly and still lock the car.

Can I program nanocom to allow me to be able to both lock & unlock the door and arm & disarm the immobiliser with just the mechanical part of the key? If so, could someone please guide me on the steps i need to take?

I have a key with a fob, I just think this is a more convenient option if possible

    TIA legends 🤙

So I’ve asked this question on a few forums and Facebook pages, and are finding that you can set BCU to disarm alarm with just key, but it’s not possible to disarm immobiliser without fob unless you switch of passive immobiliser in BCU, in that case, immobiliser will be off in a semi permanent fashion (ie need to change with nanocom)

You can leave the air alarm, volumetric sensor, on and lock with the key. This is what I do in the summer.

Thanks mate, sorry bout late reply. not interested in the vol sensor at all so I’ve switched it off via nanocom. Also changed it to open all doors with one press of the fob.

Someone suggested changing the EKA sequence code to 1-1-1-1 which i thought was pretty smart and easy to remember if the fob ever sh*ts itself when remote touring

Can you switch off immobiliser with nanocom, so key or fob just locks / unlocks doors? IE simple door locking function only for remote travel.

I just found a post on one of the international LR pages that suggests this may not be true. May need to take it to someone that can write computer code to ‘edit’ the immobiliser out.

Or just set EKA to something easy to remember and practice doing before you go remote touring
