Leak from return hose at header tank.

Hello I have coolant stains on the header tank, it looks as if the small return hose has a leak, or the pipe it connects to has a leak. Any way to remove the clamp to have a good look, what type of clamp is this and what tool will remove it? It looks like I might be replacing the header tank when I change the radiator and remove the oil cooler water pipes.

Be careful what you buy as a replacement. Put a new Britpart tank in my sons D2 3 months ago and the tank itself has cracked in the plastic, not on the seem but below the seem and above where it slots into the mount at the front. Dropped a **** load of coolant today. So the 18 year old one has gone back in. Mainly changed it due to the colour deterioration more than anything.

The one on the right? You should be able to get a thin screwdriver under the clip somewhere to release it, then they simply click back together with pliers or vice grips. Or put a normal hose clamp on

flat tip screwdriver between raised portions twist and it will undo. Be careful slipping anything under it as you may break of return tube.

The bigger question is why,,
it could be just a loose clamp,, could be..
I hope you dont start up that fun game Chase the Leak..
as each join gets tightened it leaks at the next loosest join

As for why? The radiator has a small leak, I have a radiator to replace it. This header tank is the second leak. I aim to replace the radiator egr cooler and oil cooler plumbing, and possibly the header tank, if the header tank is damaged. I need to be able to remove the hose to see what is what.

The hose was quite loose. I could rotate the hose to get the clip in a beter position. I have removed the clip using a pair of hose clamp pliers chopped out the end and refitted the clamp. The hose does not rotate it is on quite firmly.

I'm hoping that the leak was because the hose was loose. The geniune tank is kind of expensive.
