    D2 fuel regulator failures

A word of warning my 2nd ebay fpr kit (ex Tas supplier) has failed after less than 6 months. The first lasted @18 months. Both have failed at the diaphragm crimp. I pressure tested both and this is clearly where the fuel leaks from - not from the o rings as often stated. So the internal diaphragm has failed.

I have a 'Bosch' reg in reserve...also made of Chineseium..and I'll see how that goes. Hope it is better quality!

Next step will be to buy a gen LR set up costing 400 plus.

Beware the Ebay fix as it seems to have serious durability issues.

Whats the part number for the Bosch regulator that you've used? I recall looking into it a few years ago and no one had yet matched up the individual regulator until British Offroad down in Tasmania started selling the kits.

0280160575 is the number I think. We had one for a Ford but it is exactly the same 'cept it's 4bar.

True it may be a factor and time will tell I guess. But I'm time rich atm so no great hassle to replace it once again. Job time from removal to installation is now down to 35 minutes☺

I have perfected the process by first removing the pressure sender connector then the sender unit then the 3 hoses then using a stumpy ratchet handle and 6" extension with wobbly connector the 3 bolts. Easy!

    Update.
Car goes so much better. It revs to over 4k now not 3500 as previously and no more stumbles off idle. Pulls like a train too.

Should have done this change years ago!
