Yes there is but normally doable with pliers or slip joints
You could have these but usually only one is needed for the job .

You could try all the usual car auto shops they should have one

You may get better access through the inner guard panel.

probably leave it for another day when the heat is not so hot, hate to be working outside on a car today it makes difficult jobs more difficult

I have decided to have a rest day today. Rangiemans pliers look good. Through the inner guard is a possibilty, I guess take of the wheel. Maybe with a good sleep tonight I'll have a better brain tomorrow.

I just had my rhf wheel off and thought when I’m doing a thermostat I’ll be going thru that inner panel it’s only 3 screws by the look of it.
One day I will remove the battery box just to check for rubbing hoses in that “abomination of engineering” wedged between the steering box and radiator, it’s not a lot of work and the benefit could be huge if you stop a hose rubbing and stopping the show.

I got the thermostat in, about 5 minutes struggle in the cool of the morning. Go me! I started filling up the with coolant and had a leak. I had put the fuel cooler pipe onto the (easier to see and to get to) redundant oil cooler connector, so of course the coolant started pouring out of the fuel cooler connector. Another LR joke. The system seems full of coolant. I had coolant exiting the bleed screw. So far nothing leaks.

The next hassle is to put in the screw that holds the manual gearbox oil cooler to the radiator. Not much room, and I lost the screw somewhere.

Flow out of the bleed screw isn’t a guarantee you have all the air out, did you raise the coolant bottle as high as it will go when filling.

Things mostly always appear better/simpler after a break away from the problem & a Cuppa.
