Sure is in Rave. Diagrams and instructions.

If I recall though it might be a bigger job than it seems as I think perhaps the exhaust manifold has to be removed first which means removing the turbo before that... Anyways if you check Rave it will tell you.

Alternatively, I think when I did my water pump I loosened it to shift it out the way to get to the bracket bolts and the manouvre the pump out.

None of that, helicoils or inserts/keyserts, mechanic did mine so cant give details.

Done mine a coupla times (at least!)

The spinner filter bolts on to the oil cooler housing via an o-ring, and drains directly to the sump by a pipe which attaches to a coupla studs with nuts and a gasket.

Unbolt the turbo from the manifold and move it out of the way. It should sit happily on the dump pipe You will have to undo the oil feed , so you will need a couple of new copper washers.

Remove the viscous fan and the auxiliary belt. this will allow you to unbolt the A/C pump and move it aside. You should now have room to remove three bolts securing the spinner to the oil cooler. if not , the turbo might have to come off altogether. That's only three more nuts to get it off the dump pipe, you might now have to deal with busted studs into the turbo and broken nuts and will need a new gasket.

You should now be able to unbolt the spinner drain pipe from the sump and wriggle it up and out. There's a union halfway down the drain pipe but those nuts and bolts are very difficult to access

I stripped one of the threads in my spinner housing but threaded a longer bolt through to keep me going until the centrifugal filter had to come out for another reason. Then I heli-coiled the threads, end of problem.

Reverse the process to re-install. You will need new copper sealing washers for the turbo oil feed, new filter drain pipe to sump gasket, new turbo gaskets top and bottom and possibly new studs and nuts on to the turbo.

Don't forget a new o-ring for the spinner to oil cooler (like I did!)

Did mine in situ with tap extension...not sure what size tho as it was years ago..think I just went up one size in metric.

We have a thread repair guy here who does these for 50 bucks including bolts n helicoils if needed. Cheap!
