    Three Amigos musings.

I have the three amigos. They have been with me for a while, three years on and off. Lately they pop up a few minutes after I have cleared the fault. Yesterday I am in Lederderg State Park, so I clear the fault. I'm not planning on doing any 4WD track driving, It would be nice to have a fully operational car, just in case. It seems that my car knows what is going on. The three amigos stay away, is it because I have three kids in the car and have run out of seats? I end up on Diggers Track. A nice 4wd track, BTW google maps sent me down this track to get to the camp site!! I had low range and the occaisional TC action as I went along the track. Today in Bacchus Marsh, with one kid in the car, boing, boing, boing they are back. One day I will get around to fixing them, one day. These things take time and planning.

Mate , mine use to come on periodical. I read somewhere where it was recommended to activate hill descent once a month as a fix. I have done this and it cleared the 3 amigos and i have not had an issue for a few months. Worth a try.

That's what my step dad used to do to keep them at bay.
    He reckoned it worked.

    Mine have moved in
For the last couple of months, suppose I better fit that new abs sensor I got off our beloved roverlord the other month.

When activating hill descent for the monthly antidote, does low range need to selected as well

Hill descent does need low range to work. I'll give that a whirl. And I'll splice out the connector and where the cable goes through the inner guard, that may fix it.

It's a pain but after chasing the amigos for some time and replacing sensor plus hub I'd be inclined to fit the long lead sensor wired right back to the SLABS under the glove box. This eliminates a couple connectors and the original wiring which can fail.

    Fixed my issues right away.

I'm not sure HDC does need Low range to work, actually it doesn't even need a hill, as it operates on a trailing throttle i.e accelerate and when you lift off the throttle, the HDC will activate the ABS. I used "Option B" to banish my 3 amigos.

It works only in a gear in low range.
