I drove my dads old Explorer from Brighton to Coburg(mainly using the Westgate and Ring Road) .. but still had to run the gauntlet between Brighton to the Westgate.
Dad couldn't move it, but you'd be surprised how much they can move if you're careful enough.
Only issue came off the Tulla freeway, up the hill onto Bell St.
Almost timed the run perfectly until some idiot didn't move as you'd expect them too, and baulked my run.
That was the only incident with lots of revving/feathering to get the old boat anchor moving again .. but that was it.
Its literal last legs .. once I got to my my place, it just wouldn't move another inch.
Got it towed from there to my mechanic ... 100+ klms away.
You're in Willy .. how far is the drive?
A good day to do something like this is on a public holiday(not middle of a a busy word day like we did with the Exploder!) .. not much traffic about.
Did you try to drive it 'normally' ... but carefully?
Slipping clutch .. don't use accelerator, just release clutch gently in small 'doses' .. it should move, then momentum should keep'er on the move.
Arthur.
All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

Tow truck opperators will usually give you a good rate if you tell them from A to B & give them a week in time to do the job during a quite period. That is what I have found.
or,,, you could get a mechanic to come to you...
I haven't pulled a freelander to pieces yet...
