    Heater stuck on

    D2 TD5 2000

I’ve noticed that the foot heater is constantly blowing hot air. Doesn’t matter if you have the A/C on or off. Doesn’t matter if the A/C is in auto (which I usually use) or on vent plus feet. It still blows hot air on your feet.

Any ideas how I can fix this? It’s quite hot and becoming an issue in the hot days.

Run a diagnostic on it to rule out a servomotor

I gave the diagnostics a go today. I tried the above instructions and failed to get anything! I tried firstly with the ac off, holding the auto button in and turning the ignition to on position, nothing. Then with the ac on holding auto in and turning ignition on. Again nothing.

    Any ideas?

Dummy! I didn’t read the bit about holding the air distribution switch! I ended up with this:

According to the chart it shows no fault. But my heater is still stuck on!

I get the same problem every now and then and i found that by putting the ac on flat out and pushing the "Auto" button it sorts itself out.
Sometimes i have to go back and forth from full heat to full cold a few times But eventually i get a result

Just so we’re on the same page, try putting the ac on full heat, turn car off, retry. If no luck try full cold. Report back?

No luck. I tried the instructions about 4 or 5 times with no fault showing.

Is it possible that the heater flap is busted and stuck in the open position while the unit thinks it’s actually closed because the closing mechanism is broken off the flap?

Yes it's possible that the flap pointed with X to be stuck open and lets warm air in
