Remove the pannel on the inside of the door and manually unlock it at the locking mechanisim![]()
asking for someone else
I'll send him the responses I getI am trying to find out if anyone knows how to remove right hand rear door of Disco 2. 2002/3 model.
Door lock had ceased operating and was able to replace, however in doing so the three screws retaining apparatus in door section were damaged and I replace them with slightly longer ones. On checking to ensure everything worked okay which it did I closed door and now cannot open door from either outside or inside even though the specific devices are operating, door will not come away from body, even with hinges off. Cannot even access bots to remove window frame. Can the group offer any advice other than a steep cliff!!!

Replace the hinge bolts to the same spot , then remove trim panel ( this can be done with door closed) , I suspect the longer bolts are an issue so manually unlock, pull on inner cable and give the door a good shove ( this is assuming it has been assembled correctly.
By replacing the hinges the striker has a better chance of being in alignment

Sorry have tried this and although all actions are operative, I am unable to disconnect the door latch from the catch plate!! It has been suggested that I have the closing and locking device in the open position an d try kicking the door away from inside of the vehicle????

Get a small 12v battery and feed some power down the wiring loom that you can see going into the door near the hinges..there is a plug you can undo and then connect some wires to the plug. Battery should not be a big ones so as not to burn everything up if you get the wires wrong...I have done this with a small 3 amp power supply to unlock and make the door catch mech work when I bought a wreck and needed to get the doors opened as they were in the locked mode..just a thought?
