Thread: D2a SRS CODE 016

Hi strangers, its been a while.
Got a little issue with the D2, SRS code from the Evo is coming up as CODE 016 THE PASSENGERS AIRBAG MEASURES SHORT TO POWER (PERMANENT)

I can't find anything anywhere on this code however I'm wondering if the passenger and driver might be incorrect as I've just changed my steering wheel 5 days ago and "PASSENGER" is actually the RH being the Evo comes from a LH drive mindset.

Does anyone have an LR code list for SRS faults?

OK, so it went away after I cleaned the plug all this time ago (3 and a bit years) and it's not been back until earlier this week. My Nanocom will not clear no matter how many times I do it. I've done the plug again, unplugged and got the open circuit fault, plugged it back in and got the short fault again.
This time pulled the airbag out, probably should have taken a pic but the airbag lead has another connection with a blue "safety" kind of flimsy strap around it and this looks like it also has aother plug into the bag itself that sort of looks identical to the one on the steering wheel.
Can this plug be disconnected without the risk of it doing any damage? I'm wondering if the issue is in this plug and it just needs a clean. It's only 5 minutes and a small amount of contortion to take it out again so I'll try anything...
