What colours are the wires which you say are different?
I have just fitted two second hand update lights (D2a) and bumper to my 1999 TD5.
That went OK. but does anyone know how to fit the old wiring into the new looms that were cut off the donor car with about 200 mm of wire attached.
I have looked through all the stuff on how to do it in Landy UK. The trouble is my wire colours differ from theirs.
I am hoping Aussie L rovers all have the same bog standard wiring protocols. Has anyone else done this mod here and could you pass on the knowledge please.
Regards Nick. (Worane).

Hi Sierrfery, For a start they talk about the brown wire, I do not have one.
Right hand plug shows no 1 dip beam blue/ black. and no. 2 black they are transposed on my plug.
I dont know who "they" are but there is not supposed to be brown wire to the facelift headlamp just tell me what colour wires do you have, for example on the RH side the loom of the facelift headlamp should have 3 x black, green/white, blue/orange, blue/black and red/orange

Thanks for the reply S. I have just tumbled to the fact this rooster on the pommy forum is using trailer wire as an extension.I have shortish wires about ten inches & the plugs for the new bumper with fog lights and facelift main lights. I just need to get my head around which wires go where. Do I just put colour tracers to the same colour tracers?
Nick
Can't help with h/light but if the bumper came with fog lights then they should have plugs on the ends of the wires. Attached either side of and under the grill support you should find two plugs not in use that should be the fog lights. You will however, need to access with a Nanocom to activate them and put a relay in the fuse box under the bonnet and an appropriat switch.
I didn't replace the bumper on my 2000 D2 but I did fit fog lights to the bull bar and accessed these plugs and added relay. I also acquired an OEM switch for the dash which was simply plug and play. Then just use Nanocom to configure.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Chook.
Is there a power source in the front of the car that hooks up to the fog lights?
It came with plugs and a short ( 200mm )cut off of wire. Just not sure where they plug into for power.
Just confirm do you have 200mm of loom out from the headlights or from the bumper? Also you didnt have fog lamps on the original bumper? i want to help you and i'm sure i can but i can't as long as you didnt answer my question(which i asked twice) about what colour wires do you have in each new loom
in the first post you saidthen i asked about wire colours and you confused me with:Originally Posted by worane

...so if you want help you better describe exactly what wire colours you have in each new loom and i'll tell you which colour wires from the old looms to connect to them... or if you have RAVE(for the electric library-connector views) i'll make it easyer
for the beginning here are the colour codes: so for example US = blue/grey trace
